Protection through Connection
When you accept Jesus as Your Lord & Savior, you become a member of the Body of Christ; the Family of God. You now have a place TO BELONG.
You Belong to the Family of God!
John 1:12 and 1st John 31 – You have become A Child of God!
Hebrews 2:10-11 – You belong to the Family of God!
Corinthians 12:27 – You are part of the Body of Christ!
Luke 12:32 – You are part of the Kingdom of God!
1 Corinthians 12:12 – Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ. (For as the body is one – Unity and Diversity in the Body)
Ephesians 2:19 – Now, therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, 20 having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief cornerstone, 21 in whom the whole building, being fitted together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord, 22 in whom you also are being built together for a dwelling place of God in the Spirit.
(We are no longer strangers – but and members of the household of God)
Ephesians 4:16 – From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work. (Fellow heirs of the same body)
Colossians 2:19 – They have lost connection with the head, from whom the whole body, supported and held together by its ligaments and sinews, grows as God causes it to grow.
(Knit together through the joints and bands, increasing with the increase of God)
1 Thessalonians 4:17 – After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. (Caught up together)
Acts 2:42 – They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. (The Fellowship of the Believers)
Romans 10:17 – So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God
Ephesians 4:11-13 – 11 So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, 12 to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up 13 until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.
(His intention was the perfecting and the full equipping of the saints)
1 Peter 5:2-3 – 2 Be shepherds of God’s flock that is under your care, watching over them not because you must, but because you are willing, as God wants you to be; not pursuing dishonest gain, but eager to serve; 3 not lording it over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock. (Being examples to each other)
John 13:34-35 (NIV) – 34 “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. 35 By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”
Romans 12:10 (NIV) – Be devotedto one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves. (KJV) – Be kindly affection one to another with brotherly love.
Galatians 6:2 (NIV) – “Carry each other’sburdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.”
1 Peter 4:10 (NIV) – “Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.”
